Alison Karn's Why

Meet Alison Karns!  She is a Board Member at Large and here is her why!

One of the reasons I went into nursing is because nurses are such a vital part of delivering healthcare in so many different settings.  As a teenager, I cared for my mother after she was involved in a traumatic automobile accident.  During her extended recovery, I saw the amazing transformation that happened with the treatment and support of her rehabilitation care team.  This prompted me to seek my first job in the acute rehabilitation setting which is where I established my core foundation and met many great lifelong colleagues.  To enhance my passion for rehab nursing further, I've explored other roles/settings in which I've incorporated my rehabilitation skills to 'make a real difference' and provide true compassionate care.
